Favorite Saturday Academy Memories
Here in the MESA Office, we're busy getting ready for our last Saturday Academy of the year. We want to know some of your favorite memories from the first three Saturday Academies. Post a comment telling us what you liked about the October, November, and December Academies, and earn a raffle ticket for everyone from your school who attends the February Academy. (We'll limit the number of extra tickets to two per school, but we would love to hear as many memories as you want to share!) Post by 2/22 to earn tickets. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteOne memory I have is from the first academy was when I got there I did not know were to go so I was lost. In addition, another was when we started building our water rocket we were sort of lost and asking ourselves how or what do you .
I dind't get to go to the first saturday academy, but I did get to go to the second one and it was so much fun. I have never experienced something like that, I got to do things I never have before. Every single time I go to a saturday academy I always come back with great news.
ReplyDeleteSaturday academy's are great because in every one there is something new. That is what makes it great because every student that goes to a saturday academy get to experience something new.

On the second saturday academy i had a lot of fun doing water rockets because it was a good experience that was new to me. Me and my partner were very surprised we had the best rocket. It's always fun to meet new people. Mendota Jr.High (:
ReplyDeleteLast year, 2009-2010, MESA was spectacular. We had a fun year winning prizes, competing in Regionals, and learning about math, science, and engineering concepts. This year was better. On top of what we achieved last year, we learned better teamwork and working with students from other schools. For example, a student from Los Banos Junior High School and a student from McCabe Junior High School (Mendota), rival schools, worked together and placed 1st on the Rube Goldberg machine at the 2nd Saturday Academy. For the new 7th graders, the 1st Saturday Academy was a culture shock- they never imagined hundreds of fellow MESA students all converging at CSU Fresno to compete together. We hope to finish this year off with a bang, and pave the way for an even greater future.
